On Saturday Eastbrook hosted the Eastbrook Invitational at Arbor Trace golf course. Oak Hill topped the 12 team field when all scores were turned in with a score of 353. Eastbrook finished a close second with a 355, and Southwood was third with a 364. Ty Corey of Mississinewa won the invitational as an individual with a score of 75, beating Eastbrook’s Andrew Jarck in a playoff.
With a 355, the Panthers not only posted their best 18-hole score of the year but also their two best 9-hole scores. All four players posted season 18-hole lows. The Panthers were paced by Jarck with a 2nd place 75. It was Jarck’s career-low tournament round and his second top-5 of the year. Tyler Harness also had his second top-5 finish of the year with a 4th place 82. Harness fell just short of 3rd in a playoff with Oak Hill’s Jaedon Swan. Cole Myrick and Isaac Ballinger shot 98 and 100, respectively.
The Eastbrook Invite serves as a great preview for late-season tournaments, CIC and Grant 4. The rest of the county and conference schools scored as follows: Mississinewa 374, Frankton 376, Blackford 437, Elwood 442, Madison-Grant 443, and Alexandria 455.
The Panthers take some time off over the next two weeks and will next see competition at the Northfield Cole Invitational at Honeywell Golf Course in Wabash, Indiana.
