Panthers News · Panther Runners Excel at Marion Invite

The Eastbrook Panthers continued their season at one of the largest meets in the state,
the Marion Invitational. The Panthers competed in the Purple Division, which was
against much larger schools. The enrollment cutoff for the Purple Division was schools
with over 1,000 students. This gave the Panthers an opportunity to run against excellent
competition.
The boys started the day off with a 4th place finish, which moves them to 24-8 on
the season. The Panther’s were led by Ben Neideck with a runner-up finish in a lifetime
best of 16:25. That time also ranks as the 4th fastest time in school history. Not far
behind him was Zane Callison in 16:46. Callison’s time was also a lifetime best and
moves him up to 9th all time in school history. Other medalist for the boys were Nathan
Brainer (17:41) and Jack Hammond (18:11) in 25th and 32nd respectively. Brainer, Isaac
Brown (18:44) and Damian Jones (18:59) also had lifetime bests.
The girls kept the momentum going as well. The Panthers were led by Laynie
Craw in 31st place. Craw’s time was a lifetime best and moves her up to 14th all time in
school history. Bekah Hammond (23:02) and Brooklyn Stupples (30:02) also had
lifetime bests for the Panthers. Continuing to come back from injury Rachel Manning
had a season best of 25:06.
The Panthers have now reached the midway point in the regular season. They
will compete on September 14th in the Maconaquah Invite.
