In the last article, I mentioned the hopes that the health of our Panther squad would be back to 100% at the same time the team peaked. This week, against Oak Hill, we still saw a few of our team sidelined due to healing but we were able to witness some players step off the DL and back onto the field. Add to that the fact that there seemed to be fewer mistakes and stronger choices, and the positive vibes about the season grow exponentially.
I mean how great was it to see passes completed for long yardage and touchdowns? How great to see our running backs get around the corners? How great to see our defense in the opponent’s backfield time and time again? It’s pretty easy to take for granted the success of this Eastbrook football program but that success is unattainable without commitment – the commitment of our coaches in preparing these young men on various levels and the the commitment of our players to wholly buy into this program.
It is with great pride and anticipation that we will find our ‘regular’ seats at the Eastbrook field this Friday night for a Homecoming clash against a Frankton team that feels some momentum. If you are anything like me, you are trying to imagine how we can be so lucky to be a part of all of this.
