The Eastbrook Panthers and Huntington North both threatened with rallies, but it was the Eastbrook Panthers that eventually took advantage of them in a 6-4 win.

Huntington North had nine hits compared with the Eastbrook Panthers’ seven, but Huntington North stranded 14 runners on base.

The Eastbrook Panthers held off Huntington North, as Huntington North was unable to overcome a six-run second inning deficit.

Huntington North scored on an RBI double by Landrum in the second inning, a walk by Welch in the fourth inning, and an RBI double by Landrum and a groundout by Miller in the fifth inning. Still, Huntington North couldn’t catch the Eastbrook Panthers.

Justen Reece racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Eastbrook Panthers. He singled in the first inning and homered in the second inning.

Ross Debonis recorded the win for the Eastbrook Panthers. He allowed four runs over 4 1/3 innings. He struck out two, walked five and surrendered six hits.

Froehlke was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out four, and allowed five runs.

The Eastbrook Panthers didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the first inning when they scored on.
