Andrew Lawvere held up his end of the bargain, but Andrew Lawvere couldn’t carry the Eastbrook Panthers past Northfield as the Eastbrook Panthers lost 8-4 in seven innings on Thursday.

Andrew Lawvere pitched lights out for the Eastbrook Panthers. Lawvere gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his one inning of work.

Hayes got the win for Northfield. He allowed three runs over 6 1/3 innings. Hayes struck out 10, walked four and gave up three hits.

Matt Hollars was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked two and struck out two.

The bottom of the first saw the Eastbrook Panthers take an early lead, 1-0. A double by Justen Reece, bringing home Eddy Keasling started the inning off.

The game’s last lead went to Northfield thanks to a third inning rally that saw five runs cross the plate on an RBI double by Uigar, two errors, a groundout by Short, and an RBI single by Hayes.

Northfield tacked on another two runs in the sixth. A bases loaded walk scored Brown to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Short’s single, scoring Richter.
