Marion was never able to get over the hump and get over its troubles against the Eastbrook Panthers on Monday, as Marion fell 8-7 after falling behind by four runs in the fourth inning.

Marion scored on a groundout by Alcalh in the fifth inning and a wild pitch, a wild pitch, and a wild pitch in the seventh inning. Still, Marion couldn’t draw even.

Tyler Bennet was solid at the plate for the Eastbrook Panthers. Bennet went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the fourth inning.

Justen Reece‘s 10 strikeouts were enough to push the Eastbrook Panthers past Marion. Reece allowed two earned runs, two hits and five walks over five innings.

Alcalh couldn’t get it done on the hill for Marion, taking a loss. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out five, and allowed five runs.

The Eastbrook Panthers didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the third inning when they scored on an RBI single by Hollars.

The Eastbrook Panthers increased their lead with two runs in the fourth. A double by Bennet ignited the offense,, scoring Wyatt Jackson.
