The junior high volleyball teams took on a couple tough squads from Madison-Grant last week and came up just short in both contests.
The 8th grade girls dropped only their second match of the season in losing a close, three set match. The Argylls took the first set 25-17, but the Panthers battled back to win the second set 25-20. Strong play from Audrey Altum, Sierra Shook and Alexis Marsh keyed the Panthers’ rally to force the third and decisive set. Things looked good in the third set for Eastbrook as they clung to a lead late in the match. But Madison-Grant took advantage of some opportunities, rallying back to win the third set by a score of 16-14.
The 7th grade girls took the court against a very good Argyll team. MG was able to capture the match in two sets by identical scores of 25-13. Strong serving by Olivia Keller and Elizabeth Stallsmith kept the Panthers in each game for a while, but the Argylls were able to respond with scoring streaks of their own to pull out the win.
Come out and support these girls when you have a chance and you’ll see a group of kids putting out great effort and a lot of enthusiasm. Check out pictures of the match in the Photo Galleries.
